Dropped pans chip edges and profiles, cabinets settle and open up old joint lines, and hard water leaves crusted white deposits around tap bases that ordinary cleaning products can't touch without etching the surface underneath. In almost every case, stone and quartz worktops can be restored on-site — colour-matched, structurally sound, and without the cost or disruption of a replacement.

Why Stone and Quartz Can Be Restored Rather Than Replaced
Granite and quartz share almost identical repair chemistry, whether the damage is a structural crack, an impact chip, or a failed seam. The right filling resin, colour-matched by hand and cured and polished correctly, bonds permanently into the surrounding stone rather than sitting on top of it as a visible patch.

1. On-Site Colour-Matched Joint Repair
A failed worktop joint — where two slabs have separated at a seam — traps grime, looks obvious, and only gets worse with time. We rake out the old, cracked adhesive completely from the joint line before any new material goes in; filling over failed adhesive without removing it first is the most common reason a joint repair fails again within months.
We then hand-mix Tenax Vinyl Ester resin, tinted on-site using solvent-based tints to match the exact colour and vein pattern of your worktop. This is manual, on-the-day colour matching — no pre-mixed cartridge can account for the variation between individual slabs. The resin is worked into the joint, allowed to cure, then levelled flush using sharp razor blades before polishing.
2. Chip Filling
Impact damage on stone and quartz worktops almost always strikes the same vulnerable points — exposed edges, corners, and areas around sink and hob cutouts.
We clean the damaged void thoroughly, then fill using Tenax Vinyl Ester resin — the only filling product we use on stone and quartz. On deeper chips and cracks, the resin is applied in 2 to 3 layered stages rather than a single pour. Layering reduces shrinkage and internal cracking as the resin cures, which a single deep fill is prone to. Each layer is colour-matched by hand to the surrounding stone.
Once fully cured, the repair is levelled using sharp razor blades to remove excess resin flush with the surface, then brought through our polishing sequence.
3. Limescale & Hard Water Stain Removal
Hard water leaves stubborn white mineral crusts around tap bases and sink surrounds. Standard household descalers and general-purpose cleaners either fail to shift these deposits or, worse, etch the polished stone surface underneath while trying. We remove mineral deposits using a controlled process that lifts the limescale completely without damaging the surrounding finish, then restore the original gloss level across the treated area.

An Honest Note on Results
A correctly executed joint, chip, or crack repair on stone or quartz is genuinely difficult to spot once fully polished — provided the colour match is done carefully and the polishing sequence is carried through to the final grit stage rather than stopped early to save time.
Where a worktop has extensive existing wear alongside the specific damage, a localised repair will still look noticeably cleaner than the surrounding surface immediately after polishing, in the same way a patched section of any worn surface will.
